National Miscarriage Awareness Day is held one week prior to Mother’s Day, each year, as the weeks leading up to Mother’s Day can be emotional for anyone who has experienced a miscarriage.

National Miscarriage Awareness Day is a remembrance day for anyone who has been impacted by miscarriage.

MISS is hoping to create awareness and encourage the community to speak about the impacts that miscarriage can have on people’s lives, and the grief that often accompanies this experience, with the loss of hopes and dreams for the future.  MISS hopes to encourage those still grieving to seek support, whether this be through counselling, joining a miscarriage support group or participating in a group program to help them work through their grief, and connect with others in the community.

You can also light a candle at 7pm on National Miscarriage Awareness Day, in remembrance of any baby that has been lost to miscarriage.

You can also wear yellow, or wear a MISS yellow ribbon pin on National Miscarriage Awareness Day (Sunday 5th May 2024), to help promote discussions around miscarriage.
